Those we recruit are able to demonstrate that they share our values, are highly motivated to work with colleagues, within and beyond their school, to continuously develop their skills and pursue professional excellence.DUTIESYour duties as the Senior Building Surveyor include:Project Leadership: Identify, design and manage construction and maintenance projects across multiple sitesContract Administration: Prepare and administer JCT building contracts, including pre-start meetings, site inspections and practical completionStatutory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, CDM regulations and planning and building regulationsBuilding Surveys: Conduct detailed condition surveys and provide cost-effective solutions and technical reportsAsset Management: Develop, review and deliver a five-year asset management planBudget Management: Monitor project budgets, control expenditure and support forward financial planningStakeholder Engagement: Liaise with senior leaders, site teams and external contractors, providing clear technical adviceHealth & Safety Oversight: Ensure contractors meet health and safety standards and organisational policiesTeam Leadership: Line manage and mentor surveyors and site teams, promoting best practice and wellbeingCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALDegree in Building Surveying or relevant professional qualificationPrevious experience in building surveying, construction project management and contract administrationProven experience of administering JCT contracts and managing multiple concurrent projectsExperience with building condition surveys, cost planning and procurement processesStrong knowledge of building legislation, health and safety compliance and the Building Safety Act 2022Experience of budget management and financial control within capital or maintenance programmesWorking knowledge of MS Project, AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levelsCommitment to safeguarding, equality and diversityWillingness to travel regularly across sitesDESIRABLEMembership of RICS or a similar professional bodyExperience contributing to policy and procedural developmentBENEFITSLGPS pensionGreat career progression and development opportunitiesAccess to our Employee Assistance Programme with many other benefitsOngoing training, networking and development across a wider organisationWe are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
