Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join our Accounts team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will join part of a small team assisting the Group Financial Controller and Dealership Accountant with a key focus on purchase ledger for the Sandown Group. Applicants must be able to work in an environment where attention to detail is essential and have excellent team working skills.Main Duties will include:Purchase ledger processing, as part of a team of 4 purchase ledger staff in the groupMonthly payment run for 150 suppliersStatement reconciliationsAnswering internal and external customer queriesCashiering & Bank reconciliation assistance (holiday cover)Management & distribution of postAd hoc assignments and projectsThe ideal candidate will have worked as an account assistant or been a member of an accounts department or an office-based environment before. Applicants willhave a good level of computer literacy as it will be necessary to master a number of bespoke IT systems. We use Autoline Rev 8.1 (formerly Kerridge) as a Dealer Management system and there are several 3rd party systems (Manufacturer, Bank, etc.) that will require extensive use. A basic working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets is a minimum requirement. Onsite training will be provided for all systems.Candidates must beable to prioritise their workload, be professional and thorough and have excellent communication skills. Taking the initiative is paramount as is being discrete, trustworthy and reliable. The role will complete a team of 6 in the accounts department so team working will be a key part of the role.Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (unpaid lunch break if applicable) Monday to Friday. Exact start and finish times can be negotiated but must be across 5 days a week.TPBN1_UKTJ
