We now have an exciting opportunity for a talented insurance lawyer within the Property Risks & Coverage Team. This role is based in our Bolton office but flexible working is encouraged for the right candidate. The Recoveries sub-specialist team work across the national offices but primarily from Bolton and Bristol. The SCT/FT team work collaboratively across offices so geographic location is not a crucial factor for this role.Department: LegalLocation: BristolThe role is a Claimant position handling a load of Household and Commercial Property recovery files covering a cross section of perils from a selection of the teams well known insurers up to a value of 25K typically.Key ResponsibilitiesInitial review/report considering funding, prospects of successful recovery and triage of claimReviewing evidenceConducting investigations and establishing causes of actionInstructing counsel and expertsLegal researchDrafting generally including letter of claim, claim form and particulars to commence proceedingsAttending conferences and trials with counselDealing with routine correspondenceLiaising with lay and insurer clientsEngaging in settlement negotiations including consideration and drafting of Part 36 offersPreparing pre-action and interim applicationsPreparing documents for trialAssisting with ADR (including mediation)Court appointmentsConducting advocacy by telephone and in personEnsure compliance with the SRA Standards & RegulationsWorking Hours35 hours per week Monday Friday 9am 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
