Our mission is to solve complex challenges by shaping technology and solutions of tomorrow.About Your OpportunityAs a critical part of Secure Cloud Solutions team, we support customers in refactoring, re-platforming and re-hosting mission-critical systems into AWS. You will deliver high-level agile architecture expertise, expand skillset, document solutions, coach, mentor engineers, run demonstrations, training sessions and document internal Knowledge Base articles.ResponsibilitiesWork with senior engineers and stakeholders to elicit functional and non-functional requirements, guide junior engineers through documentation, estimation and prioritisation.Produce system design documents, high and low level designs and operational concept descriptions.Implement large scale or complex technical solutions, ensuring appropriate documentation and testing.Coach and mentor junior engineers, contribute to Knowledge Base and Centres of Excellence.Set technical direction and standards for quality assurance across your project.Ensure task completion on schedule and budget, prioritise deliverables against financial limits.Produce high quality user documentation, concept of operations, security operating procedures, support guides and user guides.Lead investigation of complex issues, problems and defects, reporting to Tasking Manager.QualificationsExperience within IT systems design, deployment and administration; recent roles in technical or team leadership positions.AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional level (additional relevant certifications desirable).Design, deploy and administer cloud-based solutions across AWS.Extensive experience administering Linux or Windows operating systems in large corporate environments.Extensive experience designing, deploying and troubleshooting IPv4 networking.Experience Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.Experience administering virtualised or containerised systems in Docker/Kubernetes.Experience working in complex or high security environments.Desired SkillsImplementation of CI/CD pipelines for DevOps deliveries.DevOps practices such as Git branching and release schedules.Secure network architecture design and configuration of routers and firewalls.Administration of Linux or Windows servers in large corporate environments.Use of configuration management services such as Ansible or Puppet.Agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence; Scrum or SAFE.ITIL-based Service Management delivery knowledge.Job DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: Defense and Space ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Northrop Grumman UK.
