We are hiring our first Chief Marketing Officer to build and lead a worldclass, growthled marketing function across B2B and B2C verticals. Accelerating customer acquisition, building engagement and loyalty among our drivers, sharpening our market positioning, and strengthening our brand as the UKs most trusted electric vehicle partner for both individuals and employers. This is a senior, highimpact role reporting directly to the CEO. You will own the endtoend marketing strategy and have overall responsibility for execution spanning brand, growth, product marketing, PR, and gotomarket alignment with Sales, P&L and Product. What youll do Strategy & Leadership Define and own the overall marketing vision and strategy aligned to company growth goals; lead, and develop a highperforming, multidisciplinary marketing team. Act as a key member of the SLT leadership team, contributing to companywide strategy and decisionmaking. Growth & Revenue Impact Drive demand generation, customer acquisition, and revenue growth across B2C (consumer leasing) and B2E (employerled schemes such as salary sacrifice) channels. Own and optimise the full growth funnel: acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and lifetime value, with a strong bias toward experimentation and continuous improvement. Partner closely with Sales and Partnerships to improve lead quality and messaging, win rates, and gotomarket effectiveness. Expand our collaboration with OEMs, improving our positioning and pitch. Brand & Positioning Clarify and evolve Octopus Electric Vehicles brand positioning, messaging, and narrative across consumer and employer audiences, ensuring clear differentiation as EV leaders within the Octopus Energy Group landscape. Establish Octopus EV as a distinctive, trusted brand that stands out in a competitive and rapidly evolving EV market. Experiment with creative, outofthebox ways of doing so. Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, from digital to partnerships to customer experience. Product Marketing & GoToMarket Own product and proposition messaging for consumers and employers, translating complex EV, finance, and energy propositions into simple, compelling value stories. Lead launches of new products, services, and propositions. Translate customer insight into compelling value propositions and sales enablement. Support initial set up and scaling in new geographies. Data, Performance & Operations Deliver or establish clear growth metrics, dashboards, and accountability across acquisition, CAC, conversion, and LTV, with clear links to revenue impact. Manage marketing budgets with a strong focus on ROI. Build scalable marketing processes and tooling. What youll need Experience Experience as a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in a highgrowth scaleup or challenger brand. Proven track record of driving measurable commercial growth, ideally in consumerfacing, subscription, marketplace, or fintech/energyadjacent businesses. Strong experience in brand strategy, including positioning and messaging. Proven track record of building a differentiated brand story and enabling teams to translate that into compelling customerfacing language. Experience building or scaling marketing teams and functions. Strong understanding of digital, performance, lifecycle, and customerled marketing, including paid acquisition, conversion rate optimisation, and retention. Capabilities Strategic thinker with the ability to execute at pace. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving priorities. Highly commercial, dataliterate, and outcomefocused. Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working closely with founders/CEOs. Mindset & Values Customerobsessed and insightled. Lowego, collaborative, and handson.
