About the Role I am working with a leading consultancy that is seeking an experienced and proactive Building Regulations Principal Designer to join their growing team. This is a key position offering the opportunity to make a real impact across a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fastpaced consultancy environment, feel comfortable juggling multiple projects, and be driven to influence best practice and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of Principal Designer duties under the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations. Coordinate design risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle. Provide specialist advice on Building Regulations compliance, collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Review and guide design proposals to ensure safety, regulatory adherence, and quality. Prepare and manage key documentation including design risk registers, preconstruction information, and compliance reports. Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site inspections as needed. Contribute to internal process improvements and bestpractice initiatives. Build strong, trusted relationships with project teams and stakeholders. Requirements Proven experience in a Principal Designer, Building Control, Building Regulations, or similar designsafety role. Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and the Building Safety Act. Professionally qualified in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline. Confident managing multiple concurrent projects in a consultancy environment. Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills.
