The Enterprise Risk & Assurance Partner is a key member of the Group Risk & Assurance team, responsible for delivering functional strategies, always modelling Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster-first mindset. Acting as an expert advisor, the Enterprise Risk & Assurance Partner will apply advanced knowledge of enterprise risk management and assurance as well as broad knowledge of governance and risk culture. The Enterprise Risk & Assurance Partner will lead the development and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management and (Integrated) Assurance frameworks, partnering with senior leaders to strengthen risk informed decision‑making and governance. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance across their teams, delivering targeted assurance reviews, risk integration into strategic planning, and optimisation of risk tools and reporting to drive decision‑making across the organisation. It supports the delivery of the POL Integrate Assurance Plan. The role ensures that material risks and assurance outcomes are objectively assessed and reported to governance forums such as the Risk & Compliance Committee and Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee. As a Second Line individual, the role collaborates with other Second and Third line assurance functions to deliver a cohesive and integrated approach to risk, control, and assurance across POL. What you'll need to succeed QualificationsDegree educated, or equivalent, and holder of a professional qualification through IRM, IIA, CISA, ACCA, or qualified equivalent.ExperienceStrong experience in owning and enhancing risk frameworks, preferably Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks aligned to recognised principles: ISO31000, Orange Book, COSO Integrated ERM, including the design and deployment of risk tools and practices that deliver actionable insight. Proven experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership with the ability to influence strategic planning and decision‑making, preferable annual business plans and/or key transformation programs. Significant (audit) assurance background, with deep knowledge of control concepts and methodologies, including Sox compliance and/or Risk & Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA). Demonstrated expertise in leading targeted technical or multi‑discipline reviews, providing objective insight into risk and control strategies. Capable of leading the design of new assurance methodologies or concepts, ensuring alignment with governance expectations and clarity across the Three Lines. Experienced in leading business‑wide initiatives, i.e., cross‑functional projects, Integrated Assurance or similar, driving cultural change and strengthening governance and oversight activities. Hands‑on experience with GRC solutions and reporting tools, preferably ServiceNow / PowerBi, to optimise risk visibility, assurance coordination, and reporting efficiency. Strong ability to prepare and present clear, objective reports on material risks and targeted assurance outcomes to senior stakeholders, committees, and governance forums. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation within risk and/or assurance, as well as delivering training and upskilling key stakeholders. Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint. Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross‑functional, stakeholder relationships.
