Employer Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Employer type NHS Site Campbell House Town Northampton Salary £109,725 - £145,478 pa Salary period Yearly Closing 10/03/2026 23:59 Consultant Psychiatrist with NSTEP NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant Job overview An opportunity has arisen for an NSTEP Consultant on a full time basis NSTEP is a countywide service with a north and south team. The teams work as one service to deliver NICE concordant care to service users as per national EIP standards. The service continues to develop and expand with a recent EIP successful funding bid to enable this. N-STEP accepts all referrals for people aged 14-65 with first episode psychosis or suspected psychosis. This is made with consideration of the individual’s needs and risk. Main duties of the job · Responsible for providing Consultant input to the Early intervention Team (N-STEP team South) · Responsible for joint urgent, routine and complex case assessment and management, including new referral assessments of service users within the south N-STEP service, working together in an enthusiastic and experienced Multidisciplinary team. · Play a key role with patients on CTO’s and would be the first port of call for potential MHA assessments for the team. The post holder would attend tribunal meetings when patients are on CTO’s. The average number of CTO’s across the service in the last 3 years (2020 & 2021) have been 4 -6 (which equates to 2-4% of the overall EIP caseload). Minimum of six years postgraduate experience (including three years as SpR in approved training post) or equivalent Part of this period may be in a post of equivalent responsibility and training.
