ABOUT YOU As a Business Development Manager, Intertek is recruiting for a commercially driven and relationship-focused professional with proven experience selling services within the pharmaceutical sector. This is a revenue-generating, client-facing role operating within a technically sophisticated environment, working closely with Technical Experts and internal subject matter experts. You will be comfortable managing long and complex sales cycles, building trusted client relationships, and converting technical capability into commercial opportunity. Required skills and experience: Proven business development or sales experience within pharma services Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, services, and industry dynamics Demonstrated ability to grow existing client accounts while winning new business Experience managing long, complex sales cycles across multiple stakeholders Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills Commercial awareness, including revenue targets, pipeline management, and growth metrics Comfortable working at pace across multiple clients, projects, and timelines Collaborative approach with the ability to work closely with technical experts and SMEs Pharma industry experience (essential) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY In this role, you will take ownership of revenue growth across a portfolio of pharmaceutical clients, combining account development with new business acquisition. Working closely with Technical Experts, you will lead client engagement, opportunity identification, and proposal development within a complex pharma services environment. Key activities: Grow existing pharmaceutical client accounts while actively acquiring new business Manage a portfolio of clients across varying sizes and stages of maturity Own and deliver against agreed revenue and growth targets Develop and manage a strong commercial pipeline through active prospecting Lead client discussions, supported by Technical Experts during technical scoping Work collaboratively with technical and operational teams to secure complex projects Attend industry events and conferences to support networking and lead generation Engage with marketing to support campaigns and market visibility Operate with flexibility across regions, with travel for client meetings as required .
