Job title: HR Apprenticeship Department: Human Resources Reports to: HR Manager Job location: Stanley House, Anthonys Way, Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4NF Hours: 08:30am - 17:00pm Salary: National living wage for an apprentice according to age What we offer: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, Plus enhancements with service worked MTS Uniform Company events Free parking / On-site parking Health & wellbeing programme Death In Services Cover Referral programme Position summary: The HR Apprentice supports the HR team in delivering a high-quality, efficient, and people-focused service across the organisation. The role provides hands-on experience in core HR activities while working towards a recognised HR qualification. The apprentice will receive structured training, mentoring, and study time to support completion of their HR qualification. They will gain experience across the full employee lifecycle and develop a strong foundation for a future career in HR. Main duties principal responsibilities Duties/responsibilities (in order of priority) - Employee lifecycle administration Maintaining employee records, preparing contracts and letters, and supporting probation, training, and exit processes. HR systems and data Updating HR databases, ensuring accuracy of employee information, and producing basic reports when required. Employee relations support Taking notes in meetings, preparing documentation, and supporting the HR team with casework under supervision. Training and development Helping coordinate training sessions, tracking attendance, and supporting learning initiatives. General HR support Responding to routine HR queries, supporting projects, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. Staff have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work. Staff must co-operate, report unsafe conditions and comply with the company management systems and safe systems of work as well as co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements. Person specification Skills: Strong communication skills and a professional, confidential approach. Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work. Willingness to learn and develop within the HR profession. Ability to work well with colleagues at all levels. Experience Interest in pursuing a CIPD qualification (Level 3 or equivalent). No prior HR experience required, but an interest in people-focused work is essential. Qualifications GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math TPBN1_UKTJ
