Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Mechanic to work within our Operational Team to continually improve our safety, systems, processes and provide continued training and product knowledge; you will continue to drive our endeavour for excellence in customer service and support our growing client and site portfolio. We are therefore seeking a self-motivated candidate, able and competent to service and repair a variation of plant and equipment and also resolve any mechanical issues. Most importantly, you will embrace our work ethic and company values of making the construction industry a safer and better place to work and be more aware of the environment and how we can protect our planet. Your team You will be based out of our Kilsyth, Scotland depot with a willingness to travel across the UK and to stay away for home. Making Possible Carry out workplace risk assessments on your own and with the team Communicate effectively with supervisors and management Resolve technical problems relating to plant and equipment and share knowledge, using own initiative whilst on-site Carry out and record regular plant inspections Carry out scheduled servicing in accordance with the manufacturers specifications Maintain the internal plant to Nuttall NS4 standard Have knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics Carry out on and off-hire PDI inspections and pre-through examination inspections to Nuttall NS4 standard Provide clear and concise data and records Be able to read and understand schematics Be conversant using IT systems Lead the familiarisation or provide advice to others (apprentices/operators) in the safe operation and correct maintenance of the plant Train, mentor and develop others Advise/seek advice on the modification and development of the plant to ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures Identify opportunities to implement new technology Carry out daily/weekly work programmes set by your manager Carry out workload in collaboration with operational teams Maintain personal diary/CPD record to demonstrate career development CV Record all work carried out within the companys electronic system Carry out workshop inspections Maintain work area in a safe and tidy condition Ensure compliance with company and legislative safety and environment requirements Manage working hours whilst on-site according to company procedures Maintain company vehicle and contents to ensure compliance Respond to unforeseen mechanical issues on-site at short notice outside normal working hours Maintain sufficient stocks of spare parts for company vehicles What do you bring to the role?
