Job DescriptionDo you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.Make a Real Difference in a Childs LifeAn established, therapeutic childrens residential provider is seeking compassionate and resilient Therapeutic Child Care Workers to join their dedicated team.This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who have experienced trauma and instability, helping them rebuild trust, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.About the RoleYou will contribute to all aspects of the childrens physical, emotional and social care within a structured therapeutic environment.Responsibilities include:Providing safe, nurturing and consistent careSupporting education, appointments and recreational activitiesImplementing care plans and behaviour support strategiesSafeguarding and risk assessmentMaintaining accurate records and reportsWorking in partnership with families and external professionalsContributing to a positive and structured home environmentThe role operates on a rota basis including:Early and late shiftsWeekendsSleep-insThe HomesThe organisation operates two homes:A busier home supporting younger children in a lively, active settingA smaller, calmer home supporting older children preparing for independence or foster careStaff are matched carefully to the most suitable environment.Essential RequirementsFull UK driving licence (business insurance required)Willingness to undertake sleep-in dutiesFlexibility to work shifts and weekendsEmotional resilience and strong self-regulationAbility to work both independently and within a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsCommitment to safeguarding and child-centred practicePhysically able to meet the demands of the roleDesirableExperience working with children or young peopleUnderstanding of residential childcareLevel 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)Important InformationChildren may present with challenging behaviours due to previous trauma. Full training in approved physical intervention techniques is provided, alongside clear risk management plans and team support.
