Are you also available at the weekends on a rota basis to put your skills to good use? If so, we would love you to join our clients housing management team as a Housing Support Worker.Providing practical advice, information and support on tenancy sustainment, education, employment, life skills and the development of personal independenceSupporting service users to improve their mental health and manage physical health needs or substance misuse where requiredEnsuring housing provided to service users is exemplary, safe and well-maintainedKey ResponsibilitiesResident SupportEnsure residents receive a welcoming, supportive and positive experience as they settle into a home environmentSupport the team in managing a caseload, including assessments, support plans and reviewsBuild warm, positive and professional relationships with service usersWork collaboratively with colleagues to deliver tailored support packagesEnable residents to sustain their accommodation, prevent evictions and support those ready to move onEncourage and support residents with substance misuse issues to engage with specialist treatment servicesAssist residents in developing essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, laundry and personal hygieneProvide evening and weekend cover across sites in line with the rotaEnsure anti-oppressive practice is embedded in all interactions with residents and service usersHealth, Safety and HousingCarry out all building health and safety checks in line with organisational policiesEnsure properties and surrounding areas are safe, secure and conducive to effective engagement and community cohesionAssist residents with Housing Benefit applications to ensure timely recovery of rent and service chargesMaintain regular contact with residents and ensure they understand tenancy rights and responsibilitiesDelivery and Case ManagementMaintain accurate and up-to-date case files for all residentsAdvise residents on welfare, housing, benefits and legal rights, supporting them to access entitlementsSupport service users in accessing appropriate medical, dental and mental health careAssist colleagues in delivering meaningful activity groupsMonitoring and EvaluationEnsure all information on the Company In-Form database is accurate and fully updated for monitoring and reportingConduct exit interviews with participantsStakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with partner agenciesPress, PR and CommunicationsSupport Fundraising & Communications teams in promoting services to local press and media when requiredGDPR, Data Protection and ConfidentialityEnsure all data is handled in line with GDPR, Data Protection policies and national xjdpvnf legislationTreat all personal, sensitive or private information with strict confidentialityBudget and IncomeEnsure timely Housing Benefit claims and collection of service chargesWhat youll needTo be considered for this role you will need to:Demonstrate patience, politeness and self-controlOrganised, adaptable, and a good communicatorTo be enthusiastic and motivated by a constantly changing and busy environmentFlexible to work where you are most need in the supported housing servicesWhats in it for you?Applicants for this position must be available for interview 24th March 202637 hours per weekPermanent vacancySalary: 24,335 rising incrementally to 24,968Annual Leave 33 days including bank holidayBlue Light CardPension SchemeA day off to celebrate your birthday!24/7 Digital GP AccessEmployment Assistance ProgrammeTraining and Development
