Job DescriptionScroll down to find the complete details of the job offer, including experience required and associated duties and tasks.Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)A rewarding opportunity to support victim/survivors of domestic abuse through the Family Court process, delivering trauma-informed advocacy, safeguarding support and risk assessment within a multi-agency environment.This is a challenging role that requires empathy, compassion, excellent interpersonal and caseload management skills, and confidence working with partner agencies and advocating for clients.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you:Domestic Abuse Support Worker, IDVA Practitioner, Safeguarding Advocate, Court Support Worker, Family Court IDVA / Specialist Family Court Advocate, Criminal Justice IDVA, Specialist Court Advocate, Mentor Court IDVA, Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor (IDAA), Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, Senior IDVA / Lead Advocate, Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner, Domestic Abuse Lead / Domestic Abuse Liaison, Domestic Abuse Outreach WorkerSALARY: 25,282 to 28,861 per annum FTE (15,169 to 17,316 Actual) + BenefitsLOCATION: West Bromwich base but will cover the Black Country areaJOB TYPE: Part-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 22.5 Hours per Week (days negotiable)JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to play a vital role within the Family Court Pathfinder Programme, supporting victim/survivors and their children through complex court proceedings.As an Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) you will act as the key point of contact for families navigating the Family Court, ensuring they are informed, prepared and supported, while championing safety, dignity and informed decision-making.The Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) will work collaboratively with partner agencies including court professionals and safeguarding services, contributing expert insight into domestic abuse dynamics and child impact.This role suits someone with a strong safeguarding background, excellent advocacy skills and a commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centred practice.DUTIESYour duties as the Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) include:Victim Advocacy and Support: Acting as the main point of contact for victim/survivors and their children throughout the Family Court processRisk Assessment and Safety Planning: Completing DASH and related assessments and developing robust safety plansCourt Preparation and Attendance: Supporting service users to understand court processes and attend hearings safelyMulti-Agency Working: Working closely with CAFCASS, court staff and partner agencies to share information and manage riskSpecialist Reporting: Preparing detailed written reports including child impact and safeguarding documentationSafeguarding Practice: Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns involving adults and childrenPost-Court Support: Providing follow-up support and guidance following court decisions and ordersCase Management: Maintaining accurate records and managing a complex caseload in line with policy and procedureCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALPrevious experience working within domestic abuse, sexual violence or safeguarding servicesExperience supporting vulnerable adults and children using trauma-informed approachesProven ability to complete risk assessments, safety planning and crisis interventionExperience of multi-agency working and professional advocacyStrong written and verbal communication skills, including report writingAbility to manage a varied caseload and work to agreed timescalesFull UK driving licence with access to a vehicleEligibility to work in the UKDESIRABLEIDVA qualification or equivalent specialist trainingExperience working within court or criminal justice settingsExperience of supporting staff, volunteers or studentsKnowledge of Family Court procedures and child safeguarding frameworksBENEFITSMileage allowanceTraining and development opportunitiesEmployee Assistance ProgrammeAccess to clinical supervision with a qualified counsellor25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)Wellbeing day (pro rata)Pension scheme with employer contributionTime off in lieu for agreed additional hoursThis role requires a DBS checkAPPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-P14383Full-Time, Permanent Social Care Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
