Job DescriptionAre you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.Job Title: Social Worker Childrens Services (West Locality)Locations: Woodfieldside, Ty Gilfach, Ty Pontygwindy, RhymneyResponsible to: Team ManagerSalary:287.23 Per day UMBRELLA (216.82 PAYE)Contract Type:Full Time - 37 Hours per week - Initially 3 months - potential to extendWorking on behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, we are looking for a passionate and skilled Social Worker to join their Childrens Services Team covering the West locality of Caerphilly County Borough. This is a rewarding frontline role working with children and families who require assessment, support, and protection.You will manage a varied caseload from initial assessment through to longer-term intervention, including child protection, looked after children, and court work. You will be part of a supportive team structure with regular supervision and opportunities for professional development.The Role You will:Deliver high-quality assessments and care management for children and families requiring ongoing interventionDevelop and review outcome-focused plans within statutory timescalesManage a caseload including short- and long-term work (Child in Need, Child Protection, CLA, Court)Participate in a duty rota and respond to new referralsRepresent the service at Court and Panel meetings, including report writing and verbal evidenceWork in partnership with education, health, police, and other agenciesMaintain accurate and timely case records and data systemsContribute to service development and performance targetsDemonstrate professional accountability for your practice with supervision and supportUndertake flexible working, including occasional evenings and weekendsFostering Team applicants (where applicable) will also support foster carer recruitment, assessment, supervision, and retention activity.Essential RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Social Work (or predecessor qualification)Registered (or eligible to register) with Social Care WalesUp-to-date knowledge of childcare legislation, policy, and safeguarding practiceExperience working with children, young people, and familiesExperience of assessment and care planningAbility to identify and manage risk of significant harmStrong report writing and case recording skillsEffective decision-making and time management skillsExperience of multi-agency workingGood IT skillsFull UK Category B driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business useWillingness to work flexibly across the boroughDesirableExperience of child protection and care proceedingsEvidence-based practice knowledgePresentation and training skillsWelsh language skillsPost-qualifying awards (e.g., Enabling Practice)Safeguarding & Compliance - This post requires:Enhanced DBS check (Childrens barred list)Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding dutiesCommitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practiceIf you are ready to take your next locum role and meet the requirements above, apply today! xjdpvnf You can also send me your most recent CV to.ukor contact me directly to learn more on .
