Title: Experienced Thermal Insulation Engineer Location: Hull Hours: 38 Hrs p/w - Mon-Fri - 0800-1630 + over time (optional) Salary: 15-19ph - Negotiable based on experience. Must hold Full UK Driving licence. We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Thermal Insulation Engineer to deliver high-quality insulation and cladding installations across industrial and commercial environments. The role involves the installation, maintenance, inspection, and remediation of thermal insulation systems to ensure optimal thermal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of insulation systems and materials, along with the ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and site requirements. Key Responsibilities Accurately measure, fabricate, and install thermal insulation systems in accordance with project specifications and industry best practice. Install insulation to pipework, ductwork, valves, flanges, vessels, tanks, and associated plant equipment using appropriate fixing methods, vapour barriers, and sealing techniques. Work with a range of insulation materials including fiberglass, mineral wool, phenolic foam, nitrile rubber, and rigid board products. Carry out metal cladding fabrication and installation (aluminium, stainless steel, and galvanised steel) including weatherproofing and protective finishes. Ensure all insulation systems are correctly fitted and sealed to prevent thermal bridging, air leakage, and moisture ingress. Inspect and assess existing insulation systems, identifying deficiencies and recommending repair or replacement solutions. Safely remove and dispose of redundant or damaged insulation materials in accordance with environmental and site regulations. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, risk assessments, and method statements. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents to deliver works to required standards and timelines. Maintain accurate records of completed works, materials usage, and any variations or remedial actions. Ensure tools, access equipment, and machinery are maintained in safe and serviceable condition. Candidate Profile Proven experience as a Thermal Insulation Engineer within industrial or commercial environments. Strong understanding of thermal insulation systems, cladding techniques, and weatherproofing methods. Demonstrable knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and site safety procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and occasional working away from home. Full UK Driving Licence. Experience in sheet metal fabrication and cladding installation is highly advantageous. Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Thermal Insulation Engineering) are desirable.
