This is a specialist clinical role within a growing, values-driven organisation.Working remotely, you will carry out comprehensive mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments, take detailed developmental histories, and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions that inform diagnostic decisions. Your work will be central to ensuring our assessments are thorough, evidence-based and person-centred, with clear clinical formulation and high-quality reports.We welcome applications from experienced clinicians with strong clinical reasoning skills, confidence in working with neurodevelopmental presentations, and a commitment to neuroaffirmative practice.Above all, you will help ensure that individuals experience a compassionate, respectful and supportive assessment journey, backed by robust clinical governance, supervision and collaborative working.Role ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment & Diagnostic ContributionConduct comprehensive mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments for ASD and ADHDUndertake structured clinical interviews and gather detailed developmental historiesSupport ADHD assessment processes, including symptom evaluationDeliver components of standardised assessment tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, DIVA) where trained and competentApply clinical reasoning to formulate clear, evidence-based clinical impressionsContribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions and decision-makingEnsure assessments align with current NICE guidance and professional standardsClinical Documentation & ReportingProduce high-quality, structured clinical reports suitable for diagnostic decision-makingMaintain accurate clinical records in line with NMC and organisational standardsEnsure documentation is neuroaffirmative, accessible and evidence-basedSupport robust clinical governance, audit and quality standardsPatient Experience & Post-Diagnostic SupportProvide compassionate, person-centred care throughout the assessment processDeliver clear psychoeducation regarding ASD and ADHDParticipate in feedback discussions where appropriatePromote strengths-based, neuroaffirmative communicationIdentify and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriatelyMultidisciplinary CollaborationWork closely with psychiatrists, psychologists and other MDT membersContribute meaningfully to shared formulation and diagnostic decisionsCommunicate professionally within a fully remote teamSupport junior colleagues as the service growsService Development & Quality ImprovementContribute to service development initiativesEngage in audit, reflective practice and quality improvement activitiesIdentify opportunities to enhance efficiency, patient experience and clinical standardsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in neurodevelopmental assessmentProfessional PracticeMaintain active NMC registration and adhere to the NMC CodeEngage in supervision and CPDWork autonomously within scope of practiceMaintain confidentiality and information governance standards in a remote environmentAbout YouEssentialRegistered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registrationExperience working with individuals with ASD and/or ADHDExperience conducting structured mental health and risk assessmentsExperience contributing to multidisciplinary assessmentsStrong clinical reasoning and formulation skillsExcellent report-writing and documentation skillsKnowledge of ASD and ADHD presentations, including masking and co-occurring conditionsKnowledge of relevant NICE guidanceAbility to communicate complex information clearly and compassionatelyConfident working autonomously in a remote settingDesirableExperience contributing directly to neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessmentsTraining in ADOS-2, ADI-R,DIVA assessment trainingExperience delivering remote assessmentsExperience in independent/private healthcare settingsPostgraduate training in neurodevelopmental conditionsUnderstanding of trauma-informed approachesOur Values in ActionRespectWe listen with empathy, value lived experience and communicate with honesty and care.
