Salary: Up to £70,000Location: Remote (UK-based)Type: Full-time, PermanentWe’re hiring a Senior Android Engineer to join a small, highly skilled mobile team building a data-intensive product used by elite professionals worldwide. This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll act as the most experienced Android engineer on the team, shaping architecture, mentoring others, and having real influence over technical direction.What you’ll be doing:Architectural leadership: Designing and evolving scalable, maintainable Android architectures using modern best practices.Hands-on development: Building high-quality Android features using Kotlin and the Jetpack ecosystem.Product collaboration: Working closely with product, design, and domain experts to turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical solutions.Performance & quality: Taking ownership of app performance, reliability, testing strategy, and production health.Mentorship: Supporting and guiding mid-level engineers and contractors through code reviews and technical leadership.Innovation: Exploring and piloting new technologies such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform where appropriate.Essential experience:Strong senior-level Android development experience on production appsDeep expertise in Kotlin (coroutines, flows, memory management)Solid understanding of modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)Experience defining and maintaining robust testing strategiesConfidence owning technical decisions and explaining trade-offs clearlyComfortable working remotely and independently in a small team
