We are proud of the distinctive character of each of our settings and work closely with them to provide high-quality education in safe, inspiring environments.The RoleThe Area People Partner is a strategic partnering role, working closely with Headteachers, Nursery Managers, and senior leaders across a defined group of schools, nurseries and central teams.You will act as a trusted People advisor, supporting leaders across the full colleague lifecycle - from workforce planning and performance management to complex employee relations and organisational change. You will use people data and insight to inform decision-making, coach leaders to build capability, and help deliver a consistent, high-quality colleague experience aligned to ILG’s values and priorities.This role works collaboratively with colleagues across People Operations, Recruitment, Partnering and Payroll, ensuring a joined-up and compliant People service across the Group.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild strong, credible relationships with Heads, Nursery Managers and senior leadersProvide expert advice on employee relations matters, ensuring legal compliance and best practiceCoach and influence leaders to improve performance, engagement and leadership capabilitySupport workforce planning, talent development and succession planningLead and support change initiatives, including restructures, new systems and policy implementationUse people data and dashboards to provide insight and recommendationsWork closely with People Operations to ensure smooth processes and a consistent colleague experienceAbout YouYou will be an experienced HR / People professional with a strong background in HR advisory or partnering roles, ideally within a multi-site or complex organisation.You will bring:Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practiceConfidence managing complex and sensitive employee relations casesExcellent stakeholder management and influencing skillsA collaborative, solutions-focused approachThe ability to balance colleague experience with organisational prioritiesA proactive mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environmentA CIPD qualification (Level 3 or 5) or equivalent experience is desirable, along with a full UK driving licence.Experience in the education sector or working with modern HR systems would be an advantage, but is not essential.What We OfferAs part of ILG, you will benefit from:School / nursery fee discountAnnual leave inclusive of bank holidays, increasing with servicePension schemeRefer-a-friend scheme (up to £750)Health cash plan covering a range of healthcare benefits and servicesCycle to work schemeSeason ticket loan schemeOngoing professional development and career progression opportunitiesHow to ApplyFor an informal discussion about the role, please contact Tom Havard, Head of Recruitment and Resourcing, on 07706 323847 or via email at To apply, please visit: encourage early applications and reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the advertised closing date.
