Principal Network Security Engineer (DDoS / BGP) – French SpeakingLocation: UK or Ireland (Remote) | Travel RequiredOur client is a global leader in DDoS protection, traffic intelligence, and network visibility, protecting critical infrastructure and helping organisations maintain the availability of large-scale networks during cyberattacks and performance disruptions. Their platforms deliver packet and flow-level visibility across internet-scale networks, enabling service providers, enterprises, and public sector organisations to detect threats, analyse traffic patterns, and mitigate attacks in real time.Role Overview:They are seeking an experienced Principal Network Security Engineer to support customers deploying advanced network security and traffic visibility platforms. Working closely with customer engineering and operations teams, you will act as a technical subject matter expert, helping troubleshoot, optimise, and support complex routing and security environments. This role is remote-based in the UK with travel, supporting customers across Europe. Fluency in French and English is essential.Responsibilities:Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customers deploying network security and traffic visibility platformsTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex networking and infrastructure issuesSupport DDoS detection and mitigation activities, including preparation, live attack response, and post-incident analysisReplicate customer environments and configurations in lab environments to identify and resolve issuesRecreate and track software defects reported in customer environmentsAssist with platform optimisation and tuning within customer networksCreate and test Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for upgrades and maintenance activitiesDeliver technical guidance and training to customer engineering teamsWork closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to resolve escalationsParticipate in on-call support for critical incidents when required Qualifications5–8+ years’ experience in network engineering, technical support, or professional services rolesRequired Skills:Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP and BGP routingExperience with network security technologies, particularly DDoS detection and mitigationFamiliarity with traffic visibility and analysis technologies such as NetFlowExperience working within service provider, telecom, or large enterprise network environmentsExperience with Linux systems and scriptingStrong troubleshooting skills within complex network infrastructures Additional Skills (Prefered):Experience with network testing platforms such as IXIA or SpirentStrong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience supporting large-scale or internet-facing network environmentsFor more information, please feel free to get in touch.
