The Role : Vehicle Strip & Fit TechnicianWe are seeking a proactive and motivated Automotive Fitter / Vehicle Strip & Fit Technician to join our fast-paced accident repair centre .This critical role is responsible for the systematic and efficient disassembly and reassembly of accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of quality before they proceed to final inspection. For the right candidate, we offer an opportunity for industry-recognized accreditation. Key Responsibilities: Disassembly (Strip) : Systematically and safely strip vehicle panels, components, and interior trim in preparation for the panel beating and paint processes Carefully record and label all removed parts, ensuring they are stored securely and correctly tagged to the job. Identify any hidden or supplementary damage not initially noted on the job card and report findings promptly to the Workshop Manager/Estimator. Reassembly (Fit): Reassemble all vehicle components, ensuring correct fitment, alignment, and functionality (e.g., doors, bonnets, lighting, interior trim). Conduct final quality checks on all reassembled areas to confirm the vehicle meets the required repair standard and is ready for the final handover. Target and Process Management: Work proactively and efficiently to meet daily and weekly output targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) as set by the workshop manager. Adhere strictly to all manufacturer and company repair methods and health and safety guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Training & Development :. Demonstrate commitment during the trial period to qualify for opportunity to achieve industry accreditation (e.g., ATA or IMI accreditation). Skills &Experience Required: Proven experience working in an accident repair environment is highly advantageous, but will be considered for motivated candidates with general mechanical/fitting skills. Ability to work accurately, following repair methods and detailed instructions. Strong attention to detail, particularly concerning panel alignment, gaps, and electrical/trim component fitting. Proactive work ethic and the ability to manage your time effectively to hit targets.
