The role involves the manufacture, modification, inspection, calibration, and repair of electronic instruments, working within a quality-driven production environment.This position would suit someone with hands-on electronics assembly experience who enjoys working to high standards in a structured manufacturing setting.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & AssemblyAssemble products and small sub-assemblies in line with defined processes and work instructionsModify and rework electronic instruments to meet customer-specific requirementsCarry out soldering tasks, including through-hole and surface-mount componentsSupport production output by maintaining appropriate stock levels of assemblies and finished unitsInspection, Calibration & RepairPerform incoming inspection of instruments returned for service or repairCarry out calibration activities using specialist equipment and controlled gas systemsCalibrate electronic instruments using bespoke tools and fixturesCharacterise sensors to trained competency levels and manage sensor inventoryInspect equipment and record quality and performance data accuratelyDiagnose and repair units within defined training limits, escalating complex issues when requiredQuality, Process & SafetyVerify completed equipment against agreed quality and process standardsFollow work instructions, safety procedures, and documentation accuratelyWork safely within a laboratory and production environment, including controlled substancesTake ownership of the workspace and contribute ideas to improve efficiency, quality, and workflowSupport the development and continuous improvement of production processesTeam & DevelopmentWork effectively both independently and as part of a wider production teamSupport the training of new or cross-skilled colleagues when requiredRemain flexible and adaptable to changing production prioritiesSkills xjdpvnf & Experience RequiredPractical soldering experience (through-hole and surface mount)Experience assembling small electronic sub-assembliesBackground in electronics manufacturing or production environmentsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyHigh attention to detail with a strong focus on qualityGood manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationConfident using manual and electronic hand toolsStrong problem-solving skillsComfortable working at pace while maintaining accuracyWillingness to carry out some manual handlingTraining & DevelopmentComprehensive training provided, including product-specific tools, calibration techniques, and safety procedures
