No.: CJD2102J26Location: Based near ExeterSalary: 50,000 - 60,000This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, an eco-conscious, market-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, renowned for delivering their expertise throughout the engineering and environmental landscapes, delivering major, exciting projects across the UK. They are currently looking for a talented, enthusiastic Principal Hydrologist, willing to lead a high-performing team and deliver on an extensive range of projects, whilst contributing to Business Development (BD) activities. You will be based near the cultural, richly-historic city of Exeter.Benefits for the role of Principal Hydrologist include (but are not limited to):Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)Contributory pension schemeGeneral annual leave (with option to purchase additional leave)Regular training and mentoring, with a focus on career developmentPrivate healthcare schemeChildcare vouchersSalary-sacrifice Electric Vehicle (EV) schemeResponsibilities for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:Lead the preparation of technical documents for submission, to include Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), etc.Manage projects, delivering them to schedule and within budgetLiaise closely with a range of important clients and other stakeholders, such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), etc.Check and amend technical documents (e.g., models, calculations, reports, etc.) prepared by colleaguesActively identify and contribute to Business Development opportunities and activitiesManage and mentor other hydrological colleaguesRequired skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or similarChartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM, etc.)Extensive experience of working in a hydrological role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority) settingExcellent proficiency in the use of relevant software systems, including FEH, WINFAP, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, WinDES, and AutoCADOutstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skillsTechnically-minded with excellent report-writing skillsDesirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydrologist include:An advanced qualification in a relevant disciplineHold a full, valid UK Driving LicenceIf you are interested in the role of Principal Hydrologist, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
