Prudhoe, Northumberland | ?? 65,000 + Company Car |A well-established regional construction and contracting business, Thompsons of Prudhoe, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial management across contract works and projects.This is a key commercial leadership role supporting the finance, operations and senior management teams.The RoleYou will be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle of contracts, ensuring strong financial control, risk management and accurate reporting across live projects.Working closely with senior leadership, site teams and clients, you will play a critical role in maintaining profitability and commercial governance across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesManage contract claims, valuations, applications and invoice submissionsReview and manage contract terms to minimise commercial riskMaintain and operate costing and financial management systemsProduce monthly WIP, cashflow and debtor reports for senior managementAssess and authorise subcontractor valuations and paymentsManage CIS compliance and HMRC reporting requirementsMaintain accurate subcontractor payment recordsProvide commercial reporting and valuation insights to the Board and Finance teamsSupport and mentor an Assistant Quantity SurveyorAttend site meetings and provide commercial advice on project performanceMaintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholdersAbout YouWe are seeking an experienced commercial professional with strong construction sector knowledge and excellent financial awareness.EssentialProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within construction or contracting environmentsStrong understanding of commercial contracts and financial reportingExperience managing valuations, WIP and cost control reportingKnowledge of CIS compliance and financial systemsConfident communicator able to engage stakeholders at all levelsStrong organisational and multitasking abilityDesirableExperience with construction contract frameworks (e.g. JCT or NEC)Experience managing or mentoring junior commercial staffAdvanced financial or commercial reporting capabilityWhy Apply? xjdpvnf Competitive salary and company car packageKey leadership role influencing commercial performanceWork within a respected regional construction businessOpportunity to work closely with senior leadership and develop commerciallyThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take a senior commercial role with real business impact.
