You won't be uploading products or swapping banners - this role is about engineering, not content admin.While the focus is predominantly front end, there will be occasional backend crossover, and plenty of opportunity to influence tooling, processes, and technical direction as the team grows.The RoleOwn and evolve a Shopify Plus store using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML & CSSBuild and maintain custom features, sections, and landing pagesCreate and manage API integrations with external systems (CRM, stock, shipping, etc.)Optimise site speed, structure, and user experienceWork closely with creative and marketing teams to deliver campaigns and launchesSet up and configure modern dev tooling (Shopify CLI, CI/CD, Hydrogen, etc.)Stay on top of Shopify platform updates and roll them out effectivelyHelp shape and scale an in-house development capabilityEssential Skills & Experience2+ years' demonstrable experience working with Shopify Plus, Liquid, and Shopify integrations4+ years' commercial development experience overallStrong Vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSSExperience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)Frontend build tools such as Webpack or Vite, plus Node / NPMProven experience building and integrating RESTful APIsFamiliarity with Figma and task management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOpsSolid understanding of database design (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL)Cross-browser xjdpvnf development and testing experience (e.g. BrowserStack)A proactive, self-managing developer who can prioritise high-impact workBonus Points ForSCSS / SASSTypeScript, React, or FlutterPWA developmentShopify CLI or HydrogenServer-side development with C# .NET 6+ (preferred) or Node.jsORM experience (Dapper, Entity Framework, Prisma, TypeORM)Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, or Web APIsVisual Studio / VS CodeTechnical SEO (schema, indexing, performance)CRO or UX experienceShopify Plus DeveloperLocation: PlymouthFront-End Focused | E-commerce | Shopify Plus |Liquid |JavaScript| HTML | CSS |
