The service provides a safe, confidential space for men who may face barriers when seeking help.As a Male Victims Support Worker / Male Specialist Abuse Advocate you will deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, carrying out risk assessments, safety planning and advocacy within a multi-agency framework. You will work closely with statutory and voluntary partners to improve outcomes for male victims.The Male Victims Support Worker / Male Specialist Abuse Advocate will also contribute to outreach, awareness-raising and partnership development, helping to ensure male victims are identified, heard and supported across the Black Country.DUTIESYour duties as the Male Victims Support Worker / Male Specialist Abuse Advocate include:Casework Support: Providing tailored emotional and practical support to male victims of abuseRisk Assessment: Undertaking evidence-based risk and needs assessments and safety planningAdvocacy: Representing and supporting clients within multi-agency settings, including MARACEmotional Support: Creating a safe, supportive environment for men who may be reluctant to disclose abuseCourt Support: Assisting clients through criminal and civil justice processes when requiredPartnership Working: Liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies to promote joined-up supportOutreach & Awareness: Raising awareness of abuse against men and promoting access to servicesGroup Work: Supporting or facilitating group interventions where requiredRecord Keeping: Maintaining accurate, confidential case records and reportsSafeguarding: Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns involving adults or childrenCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALPrevious experience supporting vulnerable adults within a needs-led or trauma-informed serviceExperience of managing a caseload and completing risk and needs assessmentsKnowledge of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking or other forms of interpersonal abuseProven ability to work within safeguarding frameworks and multi-agency environmentsStrong communication, advocacy and report-writing skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the service areaEligibility to work in the UKDESIRABLEIDVA, ISVA or equivalent specialist advocacy trainingExperience supporting clients with complex needs such as mental health or substance misuseExperience delivering awareness sessions or training to professionalsBENEFITS25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)1 wellbeing day (pro rata)Pension with 5% employer contributionMileage allowanceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeTraining and development opportunitiesAccess to group clinical supervisionTime off in lieu when overtime is requiredThis role requires a DBS checkAPPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-P14379Full-Time, Permanent Social Care Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
