Job DescriptionApplying for this role is straight forward Scroll down and click on Apply to be considered for this position.AR832 - Mechanical TechnicianLocation: HungerfordSalary: 42,000 - 45,000Overview:First Military Recruitment are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support the build, test and commissioning of refuelling equipment. This role is focused on low volume manufacturing and engineering builds, working from P and IDs, general arrangement drawings and detailed assembly documentation.You will assemble high pressure mechanical systems, install and connect small bore tubing, mount and connect instrumentation, and support functional and pressure testing of hydrogen systems. The role requires strong mechanical competence, attention to detail and a clear understanding of the safety implications of working with compressed gases.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel but all applications will be considered.Duties and Responsibilities:Assemble mechanical systems and sub assemblies in line with engineering drawings, P and IDs and build proceduresInstall small bore tubing systems including tube and thread and twin ferrule fittingsMount valves, regulators, pressure vessels and associated pipeworkEnsure correct torqueing, alignment and mechanical integrity of all assembliesInstall and mechanically connect pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters and other field instrumentsInterpret P and IDs to ensure correct installation and routingSupport loop checks and basic functional verification during test activitiesIdentify discrepancies between drawings and physical build and raise issues clearlyAssist with pressure testing, leak testing and functional system testingRecord test data accurately and support fault finding activitiesDiagnose mechanical or installation related issues and implement corrective actionsComplete build records, inspection reports and test documentationMaintain traceability of components where requiredSupport quality inspections and auditsContribute to continuous improvement of build processesWork safely with high pressure hydrogen systemsFollow procedures relating to pressure systems and hazardous areasIdentify and report unsafe conditionsSupport compliance with relevant UK and EU standardsWork closely with engineering, project management and operationsProvide practical feedback to engineering based on build experienceSupport site installation or commissioning activities where requiredSkills and Qualifications:Proven experience xjdpvnf as a Mechanical or Instrument Technician in a manufacturing or engineering environmentExperience assembling high pressure gas systems or similar process equipmentCompetence in small bore tubing installation and ferrule fittingsAbility to read and interpret P and IDs, GA drawings and mechanical schematicsExperience supporting pressure and functional testingStrong attention to detail and structured approach to workClear written and verbal communication skillsDesirable:Experience in hydrogen systems, compressed gases or process plantKnowledge of ATEX environmentsCompEx certificationExperience supporting site installation and commissioningExperience working in low volume or prototype build environmentsLocation: HungerfordSalary: 42,000 - 45,000
