Job DescriptionMaking sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.Our client is a leader in the design and manufacturing of bespoke valves for a variety of industries and they are looking for a Machine Shop Maintenance Engineer to join their team!Roles and Responsibilities:Your duties will include machine monitoring, general machine repairs, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and compliance with 5s across the site. You will also be involved in project managing future development of the machine shopTo undertake day-to-day maintenance activities, routine service, fault finding, and repair of machine shop and production equipmentCarry out inspection and preventive maintenance of key equipment in line with the companys management control proceduresMaintain inventories of all tools, equipment and suppliesLiaise with the Production Manager with regards to how machine maintenance work will be planned and communicated across the site before work commencesEnsure all relevant risk assessments have been completed prior to starting any in-house maintenance projectsAssist the Production Manager in the management and control of contractors ensuring compliance with all relevant health 'safety and environmental legislation and permitsCarryout PAT testing of all electrical appliances in line with schedule, maintaining suitable testing recordsThis role may be required to undertake out of hours working as necessary for emergency call-outs and planned production management activitiesIdeal Candidate:Understanding of CNC machinesUnderstanding of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systemsForklift licencePAT Testing Qualification City & Guilds 2377 Inspection and Testing of Electrical EquipmentMechanical fault finding and repair of pumps compressors, fans & rotating machineryHydraulic and pneumatic systems; fitting, fault finding & repairPlumbing, pipe fitting, compressed air systemsSafe systems of work; permit systems & risk assessmentsUse of lifts, scaffold towers, fork lift truck user (preferably PASMA/PAL certified and fork lift licence holder)Highly motivated self-starter, able to act on their own initiative and have the ability to set priorities in a constantly changing environmentConfident of working under limited supervision following standardised practices or proceduresAbility to demonstrate good planning and organisational skillsAbility to read and interpret documents and drawingsBasic Computer Literacy (Excel, Word and Email)Jackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.We strive to provide the ultimate consultancy service to all our candidates.
