Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Generator Engineer to join our team.Role OverviewAs a Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of a wide range of diesel and petrol generators across various client sites. This is a field-based role requiring strong technical knowledge, a proactive attitude, and excellent customer service skills.Working Hours & PayStandard Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pmOvertime (before 8:00am and after 5:00pm): Paid at 1.5x hourly rateSaturday Work: Paid at 1.5x hourly rateSunday Work: Paid at 2x hourly rateStandby Allowance: 250 per week (when on rota)Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on generatorsDiagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faultsPerform load bank testing and commissioning of new installationsAttend breakdown call-outs and provide emergency support when requiredComplete service reports and maintain accurate recordsEnsure all work complies with health & safety regulationsProvide professional and courteous service to customers at all timesRequirementsProven experience working on diesel generators (essential)Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skillsRelevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or xjdpvnf equivalent)Full UK driving licenceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible approach to overtime and call-out rotaDesirableExperience with major generator brandsKnowledge of control systems and switchgearIPAF or PASMA certification (advantageous but not essential)What We OfferCompetitive hourly rate (1823 p/h DOE)Enhanced overtime ratesWeekly standby allowanceCompany vehicleOngoing training and developmentSupportive and growing team environment
