This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same-offering both challenge and reward in equal measure.What You'll Be DoingYou'll inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing team delivering essential signalling work across inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewals.Your key responsibilities will include:Leading from the front - directing and organising team activities to ensure safe, efficient deliveryChampioning safety - establishing and maintaining robust safe systems of workDriving quality and compliance - ensuring all work meets required standards and your team remains fully competentManaging resources - ensuring vehicles, tools, and equipment are safe and fit for purposeReporting with purpose - producing key operational reports that keep everything running smoothlySetting the standard - working hands-on and role modelling excellence across your teamWhy This Role MattersThis is a safety-critical position where your leadership directly contributes to the safety of passengers, colleagues, and the wider railway network. xjdpvnf You'll play a vital role in maintaining operational performance and reliability.Please note:The role includes shift work (days/nights/weekends)On-call duties are requiredSubject to medical, drug, and alcohol testingWhat We're Looking ForEssential:Proven experience organising and delivering work safely and efficientlyStrong communication skills-confident both in person and in writingIn-depth knowledge of signalling maintenance, faulting, inspection, and renewal techniquesFamiliarity with standards such as NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231A confident, inspiring leader with a clear sense of directionValid IRSE Combined Signalling Maintainer & Fault Finder Licence (1.4.230)Desirable:NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or comparable experienceExperience within railway signalling, ideally in a team leadership roleFull UK driving licence and willingness to drive as requiredWhat You'll Get in ReturnA competitive salary of 54,698Opportunities for overtime and additional earningsThe chance to lead a skilled team in a high-impact, safety-critical environmentA role where your expertise and leadership truly make a difference
