Were looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join the team at Debenham Group Practice.You would be joining a supportive, experienced team that works well together and is committed to delivering excellent, consistent care to our patients. We place a strong emphasis on working collaboratively, supporting each other day to day, and maintaining a sensible, sustainable approach to workload.Debenham Group Practice is part of Suffolk Primary Care. This provides access to a wider range of roles, shared expertise and organisational support, while allowing us to retain our identity as a local practice.We are looking for up to full time (around 6-8 sessions per week), although there is flexibility for the right person.We care for nearly 10,000 patients across our main site in Debenham, with branch surgeries in Otley and Grundisburgh.A stable clinical and administrative team, with a good mix of experience across GPs, nursing and wider rolesA strong team ethos, with people supporting each other day to dayA training practice, supporting GP trainees and other learnersUse of SystmOne and askmyGP to support patient access and workflowAccess to a broader multi-professional team through Suffolk Primary CareMain duties of the job The role includes a mix of routine and acute work, supported by established systems and a team-based approach to managing demand.We aim to keep workloads manageable, with clear expectations and appropriate support in place. This includes:Undertaking surgery consultations (face-to-face), telephone and online consultationCarrying out home visits where clinically appropriateParticipating in the practice duty/on-call systemReviewing, managing and actioning clinical workflow, including pathology results, correspondence and prescriptionManaging a fair share of incoming workload, including documents, queries and administrative tasksYou will also:Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions in relation to presenting problemAssess and manage patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditionIdentify risk factors and early signs of illnessDevelop and agree care plans with patients, in line with best practice and clinical guidanceProvide appropriate health education and preventative careAdmit, discharge and refer patients to other services as appropriateClinical Governance and QualityYou will be expected to:Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical recordsPrescribe safely and in line with local and national guidanceContribute to QOF, DES/LES and other contractual or locally commissioned requirementsSupport data collection, audit and quality improvement activity where appropriateDuty GP ResponsibilitiesWhen undertaking the duty role, you will:Provide clinical oversight of incoming demandSupport the safe triage and allocation of workload, working with the wider teamRespond to urgent patient requests and manage same-day clinical needSupport colleagues with clinical queries where requiredHelp ensure the smooth and safe running of the practice on the dayWorking as part of the teamYou will:Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleaguesContribute to a team-based approach to managing workload and patient demandSupport a working environment that is safe, respectful and focused on patient careAs a training practice, there may also be opportunities to support GP trainees or other learners, depending on experience and interest.Professional responsibilitiesAs part of the role, you will:Work in line with GMC standards and the responsibilities of a GP within NHS primary careUndertake the full range of duties associated with general practiceWork in accordance with practice policies and procedures, including those relating to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and CQC requirementsMaintain accurate, clear and up-to-date patient records, including appropriate coding of clinical informationUse practice IT systems in line with agreed policies and standardsMaintain a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including participation in audit and reflective practiceContribute to audit, quality improvement and the ongoing development of clinical standards within the practiceAttend training, meetings and events as requiredContribute positively to the wider team and to the ongoing development of the practiceConfidentiality and information governanceYou will have access to confidential information relating to patients, colleagues and the wider organisation.
