People Lead | Care Home Provider£55,000 p.a + Car Allowance Home-based with Regular Travel (North England)Full time PermanentAre you a HR professional with extensive experience working in the care home sector?Would you like to join a business that provides autonomy for you to lead their people function?Compass Associates are working in partnership with a residential care home provider with a strong presence across the North of England. They are currently seeking a People Lead to join the team who will lead on shaping their people strategy, as well as providing extensive HR support to other senior stakeholders across the business. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior HR professional who thoroughly enjoys working in the care sector to take on a new challenge with a reputable, growing provider.**Please only apply if you have experience working in a senior HR role across the care sector**Responsibilities:Develop and implement a people and employment strategy aligned with the operational plans for the businessAct as the go-to HR and employment expert for Regional Managers and Home ManagersProvide clear, practical advice on: disciplinary and grievance processes; absence management and capability; performance management; employee relations and conflict resolutionEnsure consistent, fair, and legally compliant people management across all homesSupport managers with investigations, hearings, and documentationInterpret and apply UK employment law and sector-specific regulations in a practical wayProvide advice that reflects the realities of elderly social care, including: staffing pressures and rota challenges; Care Quality Commission (CQC) expectations and safeguarding considerationsSupport managers in balancing compassionate care delivery with robust people managementDeliver training to upskill key stakeholders in their understanding and application of policy and people management. Coach and mentor to ensure practices are fully embedded and policy is adhered to.Requirements:Significant HR experience within the care home sector or a closely regulated care environmentStrong working knowledge of UK employment law and labour legislationProven experience supporting managers with employee relations issuesAbility to operate proficiently in a standalone or senior HR role with minimal internal HR infrastructureIf you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, please contact Simon Codling directly on 0161 241 7686.
