The role offers international exposure and the chance to work at the forefront of scientific technology.The RoleAs a Test & Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for taking newly assembled instruments and integrated sample preparation systems and turning them into fully commissioned analytical platforms ready to support cutting-edge research.Key responsibilities include:Testing and fault-finding complex mass spectrometry systems in line with documented proceduresPerforming functional testing of electronic assemblies, gas handling modules, and analytical subsystemsProducing factory acceptance and site acceptance test reportsInstalling and commissioning systems at customer sites worldwide (primarily USA, Europe, and China)Delivering customer training both at the factory and on customer sitesProviding technical support to internal service teams when requiredSupporting continuous improvement of test procedures and installation processesAbout YouWe are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and a practical, problem-solving mindset.Essential skills and experience:Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent experience in a technical discipline (physics, chemistry, electronics, engineering or similar)Hands-on experience working with electronic or electro-mechanical systemsStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsPractical, methodical and detail-oriented approachStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyWillingness to travel internationally as requiredAbility to work independently and manage technical tasks on customer sitesDesirable experience:Experience working with analytical or laboratory instrumentationExperience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering environmentKnowledge of gas chromatography or gas handling systemsExperience with vacuum systems or scientific instrumentationWhy Join?You will become part of a global, innovation-driven organisation operating at the forefront of advanced analytical instrumentation.The Test & Installation team works across multiple departments and technologies, giving exposure to almost every part of the business. xjdpvnf Many engineers use the broad technical and commercial experience gained in this role to progress into senior engineering, product specialist, commercial, or leadership roles.
