While doing it to the highest standards.Responsibilities include:radiological surveys and analysesroutine Health Physics tasks including -Response checks of instrumentationMonitoring of personnel and areasDesignated area access / egress controlAir samplingPPE / RPE inspectionPossible use of specialised RPE, i.e. PBASO (pressurised breathing air - suit operative)Working party compliance with radiological controlsClearance monitoringdecontamination of areas, items and personnelPrepare and maintain all necessary records, and associated documentationAssist project engineers as necessary with work/test instructions and studiesReport progress and results to the RPS / Supervisor / Site ManagerEssential Requirements:NVQ Radiation Protection or City & Guilds - Radiation Safety PracticesProven experience of health physics surveillanceUnderstands radiological issues, radioactive shielding and barrier theories and protocols for safe workingWorking knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations inc: COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDORCompliance with Radiological Protection / IRR 99Competent user of MS OfficeCarry out simple arithmetic calculationsUtilisation of technical or scientific dataDV clearance or clearableIf you are interested in finding out more, you can call Adam on or email on Astute People are acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
