CNC / EDM Engineer - GlasgowTalent Media are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading high-precision manufacturing business within the advanced engineering sector, as they look to appoint a CNC Operator EDM to join their team at their Glasgow facility.Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.Our client delivers complex, precision-engineered components to highly regulated industries, operating to exceptionally high quality and technical standards.This role will focus on the set-up and operation of EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including both spark and wire erosion processes, ensuring components are manufactured accurately to tight tolerances.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate EDM machinery (spark and wire erosion)Load materials and unload finished componentsAdjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and accuracyInterpret and work from technical engineering drawingsMaintain accurate production records, including machine adjustments and issuesConduct routine machine checks and report any faults or safety concernsEnsure machines are stocked with tooling and materials to minimise downtimeAdhere to all health, safety, and quality proceduresSkills & BehavioursStrong attention to detail with a focus on qualityEffective communication and team collaborationAbility to follow technical instructions and processesProactive and adaptable to production demandsSafety-conscious approach in a manufacturing environmentQualifications & ExperienceIdeally time-served or experienced in EDM machiningExperience with 5-axis machining and EDM is highly desirableWill also consider candidates with EDM experience alongside another machining disciplineAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience working to tight tolerances on precision componentsGood understanding of manufacturing and safety proceduresWhats in it for you?22.01 per hour + shift allowance37 hours per weekThree-shift rotation (early, back, night shift)Day shift for the first 4 weeks during trainingFull-time, permanent opportunityCompany benefits including pension, life insurance, private medical healthcare, prescription safety eyewear, and employee retail discounts33 days holiday including Christmas shutdownAccess to online learning and development platformsLong-term progression within a highly skilled engineering environmentInterested? xjdpvnf If youre an experienced CNC/EDM operator looking for a technically challenging role with long-term stability or you have EDM experience and want to develop further wed like to hear from you.Apply today or contact Talent Media for a confidential conversation.
