Job Description

We are looking to recruit a salaried GP to join the team at Debenham Group Practice to work across our three locations, Debenham, Otley and Grundisburgh. This position is offered on up to full‑time basis, around 6-8 sessions per week, although there is flexibility for the right person. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑functioning, stable practice with a supportive team and a clear focus on delivering consistently high quality accessible patient care. You would be joining an experienced team that works well together and is committed to delivering excellent, consistent care to our patients. We place a strong emphasis on working collaboratively, supporting each other day to day, and maintaining a sensible, sustainable approach to workload. The role includes a mix of routine and acute work, supported by established systems and a team‑based approach to managing demand. We aim to keep workloads manageable, with clear expectations and appropriate support in place. There is a shared understanding within the team of the need to work safely and sustainably. As a training practice, there may also be opportunities to support GP trainees or other learners, depending on experience and interest.Working in line with GMC standards and the responsibilities of a GP within NHS primary careUndertaking surgery consultations (face‑to‑face), telephone and online consultationCarrying out home visits where clinically appropriateParticipating in the practice duty/on‑call systemReviewing, managing and actioning clinical workflow, including pathology results, correspondence and prescriptionManaging a fair share of incoming workload, including documents, queries and administrative tasksMaking professional, autonomous clinical decisions in relation to presenting problemAssessing and managing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditionIdentifying risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping and agreeing care plans with patients, in line with best practice and clinical guidanceProviding appropriate health education and preventative careAdmitting, discharging and refering patients to other services as appropriateResponsible for clinical governance and quality including keeping clear, accurate recordsHelp ensure the smooth and safe running of the practice on the dayWorking collaboratively with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues, A stable clinical and administrative team, with a good mix of experience across GPs, nursing and wider rolesA strong team ethos, with people supporting each other day to dayA training practice, supporting GP trainees and other learnersUse of SystmOne and askmyGP to support patient access and workflowSPC is a forward‑thinking partnership of GP surgeries across Suffolk.
