Join a global leader at the forefront of industrial innovation and sustainability.Do not pass up this chance, apply quickly if your experience and skills match what is in the following description.With operations spanning multiple continents, it offers the stability of a well-established brand combined with the dynamic energy of continuous growth and technological advancement.Established as a world leader in electrical control systems for heavy industries including Steel, Paper, Mining, Cranes and Power Generation, they provide turn-key engineering, manufacture, installations and start ups of electrical, controls and automation systems for these industries.An exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to support customers in a variety of sectors, including Metal, Dyno Test Rigs, Hydrogen Electrolyzer PSUs, EV Charging points and Battery Energy Storage.Field Service Engineerc40k + Car Allowance Or Car + Overtime + TrainingShropshire - Hybrid - UK WideRef: 22692An opportunity to work on a variety of unique, bespoke systems.A hybrid role with extensive travel throughout the UK and occasionally internationallyField Service Engineer - The Role:Act as the primary point of contact between the business and customers, providing technical field supportCommission new AC and DC motor control systems, independently and as part of a teamSupport a wide range of bespoke systems including metal processing, dyno test rigs, hydrogen electrolyser PSUs, EV charging, and battery energy storageCarry out troubleshooting, in-field design modifications, and repair of control systems across multiple industriesProvide emergency breakdown support and rapid response to customer issuesWork closely with Project Engineers during system testing and functional verificationEnsure systems operate in line with Functional Design Specifications (where available)Deliver telephone, email, and remote technical support to customer engineering and maintenance teamsAnalyse faults, propose alternative solutions, and implement optimal resolutionsFollow company service processes and standards at all timesIdentify opportunities to promote additional services, upgrades, and spare partsHybrid role with extensive UK travel and occasional international travel (up to 60%)Flexible approach to working hours, including non-standard hours and on-call supportWork in varied environments including tight spaces and at heightField Service Engineer - The Person:HNC / HND or higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Automation EngineeringCompleted apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic or Automation disciplineProven experience with AC and DC drives (essential)Experience with PLCs and HMIs (essential)Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and computer-based systemsExcellent fault-finding and problem-solving skillsConfident working independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customersWilling and able to travel frequently within the UK and Europe, sometimes at short noticeFlexible, proactive, and comfortable working in demanding site environmentsLocated in Shropshire, this role would be commutable from Telford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Stafford.The company believe in providing the best support and solutions to customers.
