Role: Quantity SurveyorLocation: NorthamptonshireCompany: Leading Main ContractorSalary & Package: 55,000 - 65,000 + package (will pay more for exceptional / Senior candidates)Quantity Surveyor Opportunity A well-established and highly regarded, multi-disciplinary main contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team due to continued growth across a portfolio of major building projects. Typically, schemes range from 10m through to 100m+, offering exposure to large-scale, fast-paced developments within a structured and well-supported commercial environment. Reporting into a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in delivering project success, working both independently and as part of a wider commercial and site team.As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for: Managing the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final accountProcuring and managing subcontractor packages, including tendering and negotiationsPreparing and maintaining accurate cost plans, budgets, and financial reportsValuing works and ensuring timely applications and paymentsManaging variations, change control, and contractual noticesIdentifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategiesWorking closely with site and project management teams to drive project performanceSupporting the Commercial Manager with reporting and overall project strategyQuantity Surveyor Requirements:Ideally degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent industry experience)Main Contractor backgroundExperience delivering projects within industrial, commercial, retail, or multi-room sectors (typically 10m+) Good understanding of JCT forms of contractStrong commercial awareness and ability to manage project finances effectivelyConfident communicator with strong negotiation skillsIT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard packagesOther Desirable skills include:Experience working on large-scale or fast-paced construction projectsProfessional membership (MRICS/MCIOB or working towards chartership) What is on Offer?On offer is the opportunity to join a leading contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK.
