Service Engineer BedfordshireEnsure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.Salary: 35,000 45,000+ depending on experienceWe are a growing manufacturer of specialist machinery seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our Customer Care team. Due to an expanding customer base and increasing machine customisation, this is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and technically rewarding role both in-house and out in the field.Hours: Monday Thursday: 08:0017:00 | Friday: 08:0013:00 ( hour lunch break each day) Overtime will be required when travelling to and from customer sites.The RoleReporting to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and ongoing servicing of our machinery. Your key responsibilities will include:Conducting site visits for installation, commissioning, operator training, upgrades, and fault finding/breakdownsWriting, debugging, and commissioning software on-site for production line integrationsProviding remote software diagnostics and support for machine breakdowns and upgradesOffering telephone and email support to customers experiencing machine issuesLogging service, spares, and installation enquiries and keeping the support log up to dateLiaising with internal teams (Spares, Service Administration) to ensure accurate customer status recordsWorking with the Spares Team to generate parts and support quotes for customersCompleting in-house quality documentation including test plans and validation documentsCollaborating with internal colleagues to resolve build and design issuesWhat We're Looking ForEducation Essential: A recognised qualification in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering (e.g. BTEC, HNC or equivalent)Education Desirable: Degree in Electrical Engineering; chartered status or working towards itExperience Essential:Background in mechanical/electrical engineeringElectrical certification for working with 3-phase installations5+ years' experience servicing machinery5+ years' experience in fault finding on machinery2+ years' basic programming experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley softwareExperience Desirable:Experience installing/commissioning packaging machineryExperience commissioning production linesExperience in line validation and completing validation documentationSkills:Strong fault-finding ability with a track record of implementing reliable solutionsAbility to identify and recommend product development improvementsProficient in MS OfficeA collaborative team playerPersonal Attributes:Valid passport (overseas travel required)Excellent communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to use own initiativeAble to work to tight deadlinesWilling to travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and internationallyInterested? xjdpvnf If you have the experience and drive to thrive in a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role, we'd love to hear from you.
