This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development, industrialisation and delivery of jigs and tools that support world-class wing manufacturing programmes. If you enjoy working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and technology - and want to see your engineering solutions make a real impact on the shop floor - this role offers both challenge and long-term development.What you'll be doing As a Tools Development Engineer, you'll take ownership of tooling solutions from early concept through to final acceptance and handover to Operations. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers and programme teams, you will:Develop, modify and industrialise jigs and tooling assets to support production requirementsDeliver clearly defined tooling statements of work and technical specifications aligned to programme needsEnsure manufacturing system and facility designs meet Manufacturing Engineering, quality and EHS requirementsApply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and support continuous improvementIntegrate new industrial technologies, working collaboratively with industrial architects and R&D teamsSupport the delivery of robust manufacturing systems capable of meeting product design and process capability requirementsBuild strong interfaces with programme teams to ensure timely and accurate design data flow to manufacturingContribute to measurement, reporting and governance frameworks in line with PMO standardsSupport R&T submissions to help secure development funding where required What we're looking for We're keen to hear from engineers who are collaborative, delivery-focused and comfortable working in a complex manufacturing environment. You'll bring:Appropriate engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent experience)Experience or knowledge of wing manufacturing or similar complex production environmentsStrong technical engineering skills, including interpreting drawings, specifications and tooling documentationAn understanding of product development and design-to-manufacture principlesAwareness of health, safety and quality standards within an industrial settingThe ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across engineering, operations and suppliersA structured approach to problem-solving, project delivery and continuous improvementExperience from aerospace or other high-volume production industries is highly transferable and welcomed.Why join through Guidant Global?
