This is a key position responsible for ensuring that all incoming goods, components and assemblies meet required quality standards before entering production.You will play a vital role in supplier quality management, driving continuous improvement, supporting root-cause investigations, and ensuring a right first time approach across our supply chain.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong inspection and metrology experience who thrives in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.In addition to this, as our Quality Inspector you will be responsible for:Inspection & VerificationBuilding strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring effective communication of quality issuesRaising NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and obtain timely resolution from suppliersConducting root-cause investigations relating to non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are completedActing as the main point of contact for supplier-related quality concerns raised from the shopfloorChampioning continuous improvement across the supply chain to drive a right-first-time cultureEnsuring correct AQL inspection plans and quality groups are applied based on supplier performance, product criticality and new supplier statusManaging the Red Flag process within the ERP systemReviewing supplier performance and support supplier audits and KPI reportingUpdating ERP data related to inspection requirementsInspection CapabilityInspect sub-assemblies to engineering drawings using a variety of metrology toolsUse CMM and Faro Arm equipment for dimensional inspectionWork with products requiring tight tolerances, geometric tolerancing and complex datum structuresRecord deviations and non-conformances in line with specifications and standardsWork with ISO 2859-1:1999 sampling proceduresIn order to be successful in this role it is essential that you have:Minimum 3 years' experience in a machine shop or engineering manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and quality/process management tools (e.g., SPC, AQL)Experience using CMM or Faro Arm and a wide range of metrology equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specificationsExperience working with vendors/suppliers on complex quality issuesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalGood understanding of geometric tolerancing and precision componentsIt would be great if you had:Knowledge of welding or fabrication processesExperience within the vacuum industryBTEC/HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing EngineeringNo agencies please.Click on APPLY today!Vacgen Limited is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. xjdpvnf We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected status under the Equality Act 2010.Please Note: We cannot accept applications from Overseas.
