A vacancy for a full‑time Consultant Breast Radiologist with an interest in breast imaging has arisen at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. The role is based at the dedicated single‑site breast unit within West Suffolk Hospital, co‑located with the breast surgical team, care nurses and support staff. The post holder will join the team of 26 Consultant Radiologists and provide a comprehensive radiology service to patients in West Suffolk and its environs. Breast imaging is separate from the main imaging department. The unit provides the breast symptomatic service and the NHS Breast Screening Programme to West Suffolk. A mobile van and static department are used for screening; the static department benefits from 3 mammography units, tomosynthesis, biopsy and excision, ultrasound rooms, MRI breast, and support for contrast mammography. ResponsibilitiesMaintenance of the highest, evidence‑based clinical standards in the delivery of radiology services for the Trust and the local community. Active member of the team delivering West Suffolk breast screening according to NHS BSP standards. Teaching and training of radiology SpRs, radiographers, medical students, SAS doctors and other staff as appropriate. Participation in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit. Participation in continuing professional development (CPD) and Trust appraisal and revalidation process.QualificationsMBBS or equivalent. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise. Entry on the GMC specialist register in Clinical Radiology, or eligibility for entry within six months of attaining Certificate of Completion of Training at the time of interview. Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Clinical Radiology. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients. Experience in running MDTs. Experience of implementing IRMER regulations. Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate for communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, evidenced by PLAB 1 or PLAB 2 (or equivalent). Experience of radiology governance meetings and learning meetings (REALM) on errors in radiology, promoting a culture of no‑blame and learning from errors.#J-18808-Ljbffr
