Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Cashier to join its busy and supportive team in Windsor. This is an important position within the finance function, offering the opportunity to play a central role in maintaining the firms financial accuracy, compliance, and day-to-day efficiency.This role would suit a candidate with strong law firm accounts experience, a solid understanding of legal cashiering processes, and the confidence to work accurately in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is essential.Key RequirementsWe are looking for a candidate with proven experience within the legal sector, ideally gained in a law firm accounts department, who can bring both technical knowledge and a proactive approach to the role.Essential requirements:Considerable experience within the legal industryPrevious experience working in a law firm accounts departmentStrong knowledge of legal accounting rules and client account proceduresGood understanding of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts RulesExperience maintaining client and office ledgersConfident processing a range of financial transactions including bank transfers, cheques, electronic payments, CHAPS, BACS, and online paymentsExperience carrying out bank reconciliations and account reconciliationsAbility to support month-end and year-end financial processesGood knowledge of accounting systems and legal practice management softwareStrong Microsoft Excel and general accounting software skillsExcellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracyPersonal attributes:High level of integrity and confidentialityExcellent organisational skillsAbility to work to strict deadlinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsArticulate, personable, and able to thrive in a busy team environmentRole & ResponsibilitiesAs Senior Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and compliant running of the firms financial operations, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.Your responsibilities will include:Client & Office Account ManagementMaintaining client and office ledgers accuratelyProcessing client receipts, payments, and transfersMonitoring client account balances and resolving discrepanciesEnsuring full compliance with SRA Accounts RulesFinancial TransactionsProcessing bank transfers, cheques, and electronic paymentsPerforming daily banking and posting of receiptsHandling CHAPS, BACS, and online paymentsManaging billing transfers from client to office accountReconciliation & ReportingPerforming monthly bank reconciliationsReconciling client and office accountsAssisting with month-end and year-end processesProducing financial reports for management as requiredBilling & DisbursementsProcessing legal bills and invoicesManaging disbursements and expense paymentsAllocating payments to the correct matters and clientsCompliance & AuditEnsuring all financial activity complies with legal accounting regulationsMaintaining accurate records for internal and external auditsAssisting with compliance checks and regulatory reportingThe OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Cashier to join a professional and collaborative legal team where your expertise will be highly valued.
