Assistant Accountant / Legal Sector / Professional Services / Initial 6 Month Contract to Permanent/ Hybrid Working (Up to 3 Days WFH/ Enhanced Benefits Package Forge Talent are working with a leading Law Firm as they look to grow their Manchester Finance Team to meet business demands. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail focussed Assistant Accountant looking for an opportunity to utilise and build upon their experience within a high performing professional services environment. Although an initial 6-month fixed term contract, due to continued business growth there is a strong potential for this role to convert to a permanent contract. Liaising regularly with partners and colleagues to resolve queries and provide finance support as required. Accurately processing a high volume of transactions, including payments, reconciliations and system postings. Assisting with month-end procedures including partner payments and payment reconciliations. Preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations. Assisting with audit preparation and providing relevant commentary and reporting to the Senior Finance Team as required. Undertaking additional tasks and providing general support to the wider finance function as required. Assistant Accountant Required Experience: Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant capacity with full working knowledge of end-to-end transactions and month end responsibilities. Legal sector experience and an understanding of Solicitors Accounting Rules is highly advantageous although not essential. Confident and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. A logical, and motivated approach to tasks and duties with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to oversee a high volume of transactions. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work alongside and support a team to ensure that team targets and goals are collaboratively achieved. The ability to focus on specific, detailed tasks, proactively committing to them to completion. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet set deadlines and effectively prioritise duties in line with business demands. Strong computerised systems (3E highly advantageous) and Intermediate Excel skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced professional services environment. Accounting qualifications are advantageous although not essential. Applicants must be happy to start work on a reduced notice period and be able to commit to a minimum 6-month contract Only applicants currently based within a reasonable, commutable distance of Manchester City Centre can be considered.
