They're looking for a Senior Control Systems Software Engineer to take a key role in delivering complex, high-impact projects.As a Senior Control Systems Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of PLC-based control systems within energy and utilities environments. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, supporting the delivery of reliable and high-performance control systems for critical energy assets.This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical deliverables, contribute to system design, and support commissioning activities across a variety of energy projects.Main Responsibilities:Design, develop and test control system software for energy sector applications using Siemens PLC platformsContribute to project delivery across all phases, from requirements definition through to commissioningProduce high-quality technical documentation including functional design specifications and test documentationCollaborate with internal teams and energy sector clients to ensure successful technical deliverySupport Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and on-site commissioningRequired Skills & Experience:Strong experience in the design & programming of Siemens PLCs (e.g. TIA Portal, S7, PCS7)Experience delivering PLC/SCADA/DCS systems within the energy sector (e.g. generation, transmission, renewables)Good understanding of control systems engineering across the full project lifecycleKnowledge of IEC 61131 programming languages (e.g. Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and within a teamBenefits:Neg (Enquire for details)28 days holiday + bank holidays6.5% pension matchedPrivate medical insuranceRemote / hybrid working optionsGot your attention?If you believe that you have the skills and experience for the role - then please get in touch.
