This is a hands-on role working with sliding head machines and grinders, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of machining processes from setup through to inspection. The Role You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC sliding head (Citizen) and grinding machines, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and production efficiency are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities Full setup and operation of CNC sliding head and grinding machinesSelection and loading of CNC programs, with the ability to make adjustments where requiredReading and interpreting technical engineering drawingsCarrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checksUsing precision measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerancesMonitoring machine performance and adjusting offsets, speeds, and feedsCompleting work orders in line with production schedules (Kanban system)Recording production output and scrap accuratelyMaintaining tooling, programs, and documentationSupporting continuous improvement and identifying tooling or process enhancementsEnsuring a clean, safe, and organised working environment (5S standards)Performing routine maintenance (TPM) About You Proven experience setting and operating CNC machines, ideally sliding head (Citizen)Experience with CNC grinding machines is advantageousAbility to read and edit G-code (Fanuc preferred)Strong understanding xjdpvnf of machining tolerances and quality standardsConfident using inspection equipment such as micrometers and verniersAbility to troubleshoot and resolve production issuesFlexible and adaptable within a fast-paced manufacturing environment What's On Offer Competitive salary depending on experienceOpportunity to work within a structured, high-quality manufacturing environmentSupportive team culture with a focus on continuous improvementLong-term stability and development opportunities
