We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) based in Normanton, West Yorkshire to lead the design and development of cutting-edge embedded software for next-generation products. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced Normanton based Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in C programming, RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems), and wireless communication protocols.The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.Reporting to the Group Technical Engineering Director, you will play a key role in shaping system architecture, driving technical excellence, and delivering high-performance, reliable embedded solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop embedded software for ARM-based microprocessors using RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or similar)Implement and optimise wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, ZigbeeCollaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to define system architecture and requirementsWrite, debug, and maintain high-quality C code following best practices (e.G.
