Job Title

The role involves preparation of accounts for a variety of client types including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders. The successful candidate will work with clients from a variety of sectors including engineering, leisure and hospitality, solicitors and charities. The role requires attendance at clients sites across the North East.Key Responsibilities:Preparation of accounts from a variety of clients' systems Sage, Xero, QuickBooks etc.Preparation of corporation tax computationsActioning queries raised by accounts and tax managers on the accounts and working papers preparedFinalisation of the accounts following client meetingsActing as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queriesPreparation of management accounts and VAT returnsSupervise, train and mentor more junior members of staffThe ideal candidate will:Be ACA/ACCA/AAT qualified or finalist or be qualified by experienceIdeally have a minimum of 4 years experience working in an accounting practiceHave a strong technical knowledge and be up to date with current legislationHave good training and mentoring skillsHave experience of preparation of year end accounts for owner-managed small to medium businesses including sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesBe able to work to tight deadlines and budgetsBe driven and proactive, ensuring that our commitment to providing excellent service levels to our clients is metHave a good knowledge of accounting software packages such as Sage, QuickBooks and Xero would be advantageousPossess excellent communication skills, both written and xjdpvnf verbalHave good organisational and administrative skills with attention to detailBe keen to take on additional responsibilities and make recommendations for business and process improvementsIdeally be a driver with own carWhat they offer;A competitive salaryAuto enrolment contributory pension schemeUp to 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)Flexible working hoursExtensive learning and development opportunitiesThe ability to accrue Time off in Lieu (TOIL)
