The project is the result of an extremely successful period of tendering during which several new major projects have been won and are due on site in the coming months. The initial project is a new 15 mill extension to an existing school due on site imminently. The role will be site-based with a contract programme of 18 months with similar works to follow on the same framework. This is a newly created role and paying extremely competitively, demonstrating the importance and value of the role within the business.Your new roleAs senior QS, you'll take ownership of the commercial side of the project from start to finish, managing everything from early cost planning through to final account. The role includes procuring and overseeing subcontract packages, handling valuations and variations, and keeping on top of cost reporting, forecasts and CVRs. You'll look after subcontractor payments, change control and final accounts, making sure everything is run in line with the contract and company processes. Along the way, you'll work closely with the wider project team, clients and consultants, while supporting value engineering and keeping a tight control on costs on site.What you'll need to succeedYou will be an experienced Senior QS with experience of managing new-build education schemes or similar on behalf of a main contractor. Experience of working on DFE projects is preferred but not essential. You will be comfortable working on site and have managed larger schemes of over 10 mill previous.
