Summer Playscheme WorkerLocation: BelfastRate of Pay: £13.45 per hourCore duration: 29th June to 21st of August (depending on location)Hours: 25 hours per weekContract: Temporary / Summer PositionCommunity Centres including but not limited to: Glen Road, Finaghy, Suffolk, Ligoniel, Concorde, Woodvale, White City, Duncairn, Divis, Horn Drive.Main Purpose of the RoleTo support the designated Assistant Community Development Officer or Playworker in the organisation and delivery of a Summer Playscheme, including the day-to-day programming and development of activities. This will involve activities within the centre as well as trips and activities away from the centre.Key ResponsibilitiesOrganise, supervise, and lead structured play activities both on-site and off-site, as directedPrepare and set up materials and resources for daily activitiesSupport volunteers and staff to help broaden and develop the playscheme programmeConsistently apply best practice in line with the Playwork Code of PracticeAdhere to Child Protection policies and procedures at all timesImplement all required Health and Safety proceduresParticipate in monitoring, evaluation, and feedback processesAssist with administrative and financial tasks related to the playscheme when requiredUndertake additional duties appropriate to the roleEssential ExperienceApplicants must be able to demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience in each of the following areas:Direct supervision of children as a primary or substantial part of your rolePlanning and delivering organised play or recreational activitiesApplicants must clearly evidence this experience through personal and specific examples in their application.Essential RequirementsAged 18 years or over (for child protection purposes)A genuine interest in working with children and young peopleStrong communication and organisational skillsIf successful in application, an Enhanced Access NI check will be required before starting in the role; payment for this is the responsibility of the candidate (£32)You will also be required to attend essential training & induction sessions in June- Tuesday 16th June 6:30pm to 9:30pm, Sat 20th June 9:30am to 12:30pm, and Thu 25th June 6:30pm to 9:30pmApply now!Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.JBRP1_UKTJ
